Explorer Post 55 is for youths between the ages of 13-20 who are interested in building a unique and dynamic relationship with the community. Our purpose is to provide experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults. Exploring is based along with direct and personal contact with members of the Stratford Police Department. The result is a program of activities that helps youth pursue their interest in law enforcement, grow and develop.
The meetings are held every Thursday and are usually from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The day, time and location are subject to change based on the activity that is planned for the meeting.
To become a Stratford Police Explorer you must meet the following requirements: Town of Stratford CT. Resident, be between the ages of 13-20 years old, maintain a "C" average or above in academic classes, have no criminal record, and be able to attend Thursday meetings.
Stratford Police Cadets are members of the Northeast Regional Law Enforcement Educational Association (NERLEEA).
